I don't think this has been pointed out yet, so thought I'd pass it along. For those of you wishing a Chinese bakery would set up shop at the V&T Supermarket in Hempstead your wishes have come true. Sometime in the last couple of weeks (I think - we were away for awhile) a bakery has setup shop at the front of the food court area. It would appear to be a branch of Century Bakery in Manhattan, which I believe is on the Bowery. We just passed by quickly and didn't try anything, though it looks like some of the stuff may be made on site while most others may come from the Manhattan location. They also serve a number of different milk tea drinks and fruit drinks (but didn't seem to be doing the whole 'bubble tea' thing). Not a giant selection, but still a couple of cases full of cakes, coconut buns, red bean buns, etc. If a full-time DVD/CD shop would open up in one of the other booths we'd rarely have to trek into Chinatown or Flushing at all anymore for shopping (just for hitting the restaurants).
