Heavenly Roast Beef at Gregoire

Morton the Mousse | Jul 6, 2005 07:21 PM

A few weeks back someone was mourning the death of the roast beef sandwich at Oliveto. This month Gregoire will help you cope with your loss. His roast beef is so good, when it's on the menu I eat it every week, when it's not on the menu I don't eat roast beef.

The roast is house made from premium beef. It is pink and juicy, thinly sliced and very flavorful. It is worlds apart from the dry, brown filth served at a "deli" down the street that will remain unnamed.

This month Gregoire pairs the roast beef with a house made mustard and watercress on a warm ciabbatta roll. The simplicity of the sandwich accentuates the delicious meat.

As the meat is cold, this sandwich will travel better than most of Gregoire's fare, although it is only truly perfect when the bread is warm.

July's menu is a masterpiece. I can't wait to return. This is the month to try out Gregoire.
