heating pastrami

I bought a couple pounds of pastrami to go from a very good deli. He asked if I wanted it hot or cold. Ordering it cold, it turned out that the meat was a pale pink, and not the roasted fall-off-the-bone red that I've been accustomed to getting when I order the sandwiches, where the meat is carved up hot. I'm hoping that heating it up will make it more red and succulent, but I'm not sure how I should go about it. Should I heat it in the over for half an hour at 400C? Microwave it? Anyone have any best tips for heating?
