Went to this restaurant this past week and I must say, I don't know what the fuss is about. After my review of A Rebours, I am sure that people are going to think that I just don't like upscale restaurants, but I should add here that we went to Zander the previous week and loved it. Heartland was mediocre. The waiter was pretty rude, first of all. The salad was quite good, mixed greens and beets, but keep in mind they have a changing menu. Paul said the pumpkin soup was reasonably good. But the entrees ranged from bad to mediocre. The whitefish I got was bland and served in a cold fish consomme that was also pretty weak. Paul's cassoulet was sub-par, though he would have to give you the details as to why. I will say that the duck leg from his cassoulet which I ate was above average. The fingerling potatoes were mushy and bland. The place is pretty expensive as well, entrees range from $24-$36. We did not get wine, so I can't speak to the wine list.
