We had THE most amazing culinary experience at Hunan Village on Saturday, I want to give public accolades to Paul and his staff.
Last minute reservations were made, and a request was given to Paul to decide on the menu, the chef's selections.
A feast followed, and I apologize that I didn't note the exact dishes.
A light, milky colored soup opened the meal. Exquisite.
Appetizers which consisted of five different tastes followed.
Entrees included: Duck, nestled in a puffy bun; a huge prawn, stuffed; spareribs, falling off the bone tender; poached sea bass, served with an amazing brown rice with beans; two other dishes which I'll have to get back to you about.
Fruit, to end the meal, and a lovely sauterne.
I am not doing justice to the individual tastes of each dish, nor to the spicy balance when used. The service was impeccable, Paul was the host with the most, and I only wish more restaurants in Westchester had their quality and Paul's class.
When the owner and wait staff of Gina Marie are allowed to operate in Westchester and most are unaware of their abysmal service, I find it intolerable.
Therefore, I want to alert one and all to Paul and the wait staff and especially the chef and food of Hunan Village. Cost was approximately $100. a person, but the parking was free, which in White Plains it is not.
Thank you, Paul et al, for an indescribably wonderful experience. Run, don't walk, to his Chinese New Year feast.
No, to the cynics, I don't work there.
