harry's burrito, larchmont--report

Based on a positive review in the Journal News we went here recently. It's a comfy place with some outdoor seating and was not at all crowded at eightish on a Thursday. The decor was described as "funky" in the paper--if this is what passes for funky in Larchmont, I'm glad I live in Hastings. Actually, this is indicative of the food, which is adequate but definitely dumbed down for the gringo palate. My "finger enchiladas" (means they're small), chicken with pinto beans, were spicy but aside from that, not too flavorful. At least they didn't pile on the white cheese like some "Ameri-Mex" places. Dining companion had a chicken burrito that went heavy on the chicken and easy on the rice--a plus in my mind. But it tasted almost exactly the same as my enchiladas. The service was eager to please, though we had to swipe forks and napkins off a neighboring table. Bottom line: if you live nearby, okay. If you don't, better can be had elsewhere.
