handrolled noodles and more at Mandarin Deli

patty | Mar 10, 200207:59 PM     6

Went downtown to check out Chinatown art galleries and decided to see if Mandarin Deli was still good (the small one on Broadway). The handrolled noodles are still chewy and excellent, but best in a soup, not dry. The boiled fish dumplings, not available at the Little Tokyo location, were light with a pleasantly chewy wrapper. The scallion pancake was perfectly cooked, not too greasy or salty. The tofu salad was also light and refreshing. An excellent lunch, all in all, and we met another Chowhound there who overheard us mention the site. Make sure and ask if the noodle dish you order is available with handrolled noodles, they're the bomb.
