As it is impossible to get truly good lox, kippered salmon,whitefish salad, etc. in Boston, my son and I (as part of our preparation for a special brunch we are throwing on Sunday) will be headed for NYC early tomorrow morning to Russ&Daughters, a long-time favorite of ours. We'll also load up with bialies at Kosars on Grand. We've enjoyed the hand-made bagels that Mark Federman sells at Russ&daughters but wonder whether Manhattan chowhounds have some strong feelings and recommendations for hand-made bagels. Thoughts about corn rye, pumpernickel and bialies will be appreciated as well.
