Han Kook Kyo Ja Report - Annandale VA

Steve | Dec 28, 200707:12 AM     2

Seven of us tried this very new Korean place in Annandale, which proudly touts dumplings and noodles on their sign outside.

We ordered only two dumpling dishes - one fried and one traditional- which in this case means with kim chee mixed into the stuffing. The fried dumplings were average. I liked the traditional very much - though a fellow Chowhound who grew up eating these as a child was not impressed. Chasing after that perfect kim chee dumpling?

We ordered one noodle dish, a strir fry with baby octopus. Only a bit spicy and a touch sweet. The noodles were very good.

The other two dishes we got were a seafood casserole, pretty spicy, which was chock full of seafood but had a very thin broth, more like a soup. And we also shared a spicy pork bbq which was delicious but should have been less sweet. The panchan was excellent.
