Hamburger/Fries at Waterfront Bar in San Diego

I had long heard that this old tavern in Little Italy made a mean burg and fries. It's true. . . I finally tried it yesterday. Awesome burger--seemed griddled, juicy and crunchy, with a soft fresh bun. Served with a big tray of condiments so you can add what you like. The waitress told me that I should try the Bubba Burger the next time--some sort of BBQ sauce/onion/bacony thing. The fries were great (I don't know if they were homemade) but they were crunchy, greasless, salty, and popped with potato flavor. Bass Ale on tap was excellent.

Only caveat: the place is a little rough around the edges. Mostly filled with construction workers drinking multiple beers for lunch. However, everybody was friendly and I felt welcome even though I was clearly not a regular.
