Hala Kahiki (?)

Ani | Dec 6, 2001 12:48 PM

Wondering if Hala Kahiki is still open on River Road. We used to go there for Polynesian drinks. The ambiance was a cross between Tiki and Tacky but boy did they made a delicious Chi Chi with vodka and coconut juice. (Tried ordering Chi Chi drinks at other places, but they all taste like Pina Colada wannabees with pineapple juice.) If I remember correctly, they also had an adjacent gift shop.
Thinking about taking a day to visit the old neighborhood with some friends and ending it with Hala Kahiki.
Johnny's, New Star, Al Gelato, Caputos, Riviera Deli, Agostinos, Dominos, Alpine, Gene and Jude's, Capri, Tom's Steakhouse, Horwaths, Armands, Biancalana's, Elm Deli, plus a few other places I can only remember the location of, are some of the spots I'd like to see.
Any other recommendations???
Haven't been back for about 10-15 years...the area is probably completely different...
