Haitian on Washington (Prospect Heights)?

Lambretta76 | Sep 11, 2003 03:47 PM

Noticed a restaurant I had never seen before a couple of nights ago due to a large contingent of French speaking Haitians outside. A Haitian man and I conversed in broken French (his was too thickly accented, mine is just poor) and he said it was very good and recommmened a chicken dish, one which I assumed to be Kreyol. However, I asked them for it and they were unfortunately out, and they don't have a menu either, so I retired to Washington Roti Shop for my standby vegetable roti and macaroni pie. (It looked the Haitian restaurant was closing up shop at this point anyways, around 8 pm on a Wednesday.)

I will be trying it next week for lunch, but if someone has been there and can recommend anything, or can recommend any Haitian dishes I should try, I would love to hear about it/them. I don't remember the name, but it's on the east side of Washington Ave. between St Johns and Lincoln.
