Guyanese Rum

Last year when in Chicago I stopped in as usual @ the great liquor store, Sam's Warehouse. There I chanced upon some barebones bottles of rum from Guyana. 1 bottle as labeled as aged in oak and another was listed as having been aged for 10 yrs. I didn't buy either but my interest was aroused. Well this June I was back in Chicagoland and went back to Sams (a great great store). The rums I had seen were no longer available but they had a new line of rum called Classic Rums of the Caribbean (from all over the Caribbean, natch). This time under this brand name they had a 10yr old aged in oak rum from Demerara, Guyana. WOW! This is a revelation from the heavens above. Drunk neat @ room temp. it is like nothing I've ever had. My vocabulary can not do justice to what my mouth feels when I drink this. If you are at all interested in rum or other spirits and want to try something new and tasty track this rum down.
