went there on a monday and recieved good crabs, good price and fresh meat. went there on the following sunday and was very disappointed with the food. first of all, the crabs were for the most part mealy and old. appx. 85% of the 3 dozen ordered. server said they were from s.carolina and not louisiana where they are normally harvested. this explanation was an insult and a joke, eastern crabs know no boundaries and fresh crabs are just that "fresh". so i ordered a steak m.r. got it m.w. and smelled rancid-vinegary. so i ordered a safe bet, a cheeseburger w.d. and got just what i expected. this was in addition to the 200 plus bill for the crabs which were super sub-standard (the server said she would prorate the bill for all the crabs which were not up to standards, yeah like that would really happen, surprise it didn't materialize). the table ordered the giant eclairs( proudly stated as being homemade, yeah sur how difficult is it to buy a puff pastry shell and stuff it w/ a fake sabayon). the eclair tasted of age. shouldv'e known not to order it since they were marked by diff. colored toothpicks. anyway, will never go there again, if not for the dead, disappointed crabs then for suspicion of food poisoning. so that leaves me where can i go for crabs?? other then L.P. STEAMERS which is a rip-off (there 70's were smaller then there 40's from week to week).. need help from other hounds regarding crab houses that's non-touristy and genuine baltimore.
