I have weekend guests coming in September and am in a dilemma as to what to feed them. According to the wife, the husband eats anything and everything so he's not the problem. The wife, however, doesnt tolerate fats well, including olive oil. I've only seen her order grilled or broiled fish and green salad (both with no oil) when we've eaten the occasional lunch out.
I'm a pretty good cook, but my areas of expertise are mostly French, Italian and Eastern European Jewish and all involve vegetable and/or animal fats to some degree. Ive never had to deal with a diet thus restricted and I dont even know how to begin my meal planning. I don't see us eating raw fruit and grilled vegetables all weekend.
Even the simplest things I can come up with in my imagination involve at least a little fat in one form or another. I hate to have to ask my guest for specific menu ideas, as I dont her to feel shes making life complicated for me. And I want whatever I make to be appealing and satisfying for all four of us (with perhaps just a slightly different version for her, if necessary). Anybody have any suggestions?
