Gryfe's Bagels at Mercatto

Craig | Apr 29, 2005 09:05 AM

In case anyone's interested, Mercatto (on Toronto St. between King and Adelaide) has a seemingly temporary supply of Gryfe's Bagels. IANABE (I Am Not A Bagel Expert), but I know various people have been looking for 'Montreal-style' bagels and this seems close enough for my bagel-ignorant self, according to the descriptions I've read. Small, big holes, crispy/sweet outside and soft and chewy on the inside -- both poppy seed and sesame seed available. I realize Gryfe's is a Toronto co., but I haven't seen them in many cafes... maybe I just need to get out more. :)

Stopped by this morning for a great quick breakfast of a warm Gryfe's bagel and a nice cappucino.

Hope this helps someone out!
