Went to Grocery for our V-day celebration last night (Couldn’t get a resy on the 14th the slacker that I am). Nice wine list. Salad and fried chicken liver apps were yummy. Our mains of chicken and trout were great. Their homemade apple cobbler and the passion fruit and blood orange sorbet made us fans. The chef/owner overheard me talking about my sorbet and gave me another scoop and said try this flavor – very nice touch. She then came over and talked to us about ice cream and her conundrum about trying to find a good ice cream maker. The only minor drawback was that the service was just a little slow. We overlooked this because they kept bringing us samples of food from their menu, which were again a nice touch and delicious. Throughout the evening the staff were attentive, but not obtrusive. Def. recommended if you haven’t been there. The food, ambiance and service were above what you’d expect in the neighborhood. This, along with the chef/owner’s affable and down-to-earth nature, makes me want to go back for more.
