Greenville SC-Lazy Goat

I REALLY, really wanted to like this place. From the wonderful view on the river to the interesting and varied Mediterranean-inspired tapas-type menu I had high hopes. Perhaps too high. On the positive side..the view is great. If I was to go again on a mild evening I might sit outside as it was pretty noisy inside due to high ceilings. This definitely isn't a cozy, romantic spot. The service was ok but too brusque and rushed. I felt rushed the whole evening..we had barely been seated and been handed our menus when the waitress came to ask what we'd like. We asked for time to look at wine list and barely 2 minutes went by when she returned to ask again. We got our wine and she immediately asked what we wanted for dinner. We were in the mood for a leisurely evening meal...not concerned w/ helping her turn our table for another seating. The food was just mediocre. An item we had that was fried tasted strongly of old oil. The larger plates were bland and uninteresting.
Prices are fine but for the quality of the food I would have gone elsewhere. If I had it to do over again I would have sat outside and just had a glass of wine and a charcuterie plate there and gone elsewhere for a meal.
