Had dinner at Green Zebra tonight:


Butter Popcorn with a cinnamon, Tandoori Spiced Almonds, Vinegar cured wax beans, and Rice Puffs in a Thai Peanut Sauce

(Contrasting textures,sweet, spicy, salty, and tart, appealing to all of the taste buds)

Courses (Accompanied by a fruity cool 2002 Sancerre):

Papaya Napoleon with wild mushroom filling

(This was the only dish I didn't like. Bitter and almost tasteless)

Gorgonzola Souffle with green salad and candied nuts.

(Perfect consistency redolent with egg and cheese)

Fennel Risotto Cake encrusted with Parmesan Reggiano topped with carmelized onion and meyer lemon zest.

(Salty, Crunchy, soft, perfect marriage of textures and slight anise flavor, sweet lemon zing)

Sweet Potato Dumplings in a sweet broth.

(Soft velvety potato puree melted on the tongue)

Potatoe Gnnochi with Wild Baby Ramps and Shaved Parmesan

(Again velvety, reminds me of my late grandmothers potatoe peirogi. The ramps tasted like spring)

Slow Roasted Shitake Mushrooms wrapped in a potato like roll with a napa cabbage type mix

(Tasted like an organic veggie egg roll. The shitakes had a hearty earthy full taste and character)


Ginger Baba Cake in a coconut froth with Banana Ice Cream

(Spicy, sweet, and tropical)

White Chocolate, Orange Granita, Fresh Ginger Soda and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream garnished with a tuile.

(Like a creamsicle float full of texture. Icy, spicy, and sweet)

Awesome experience. I am not an unforgiving carnivore, but love meat nonetheless. I didn't miss it for a minute. I look forward to going back.
