Best Green Line-accessible lunch between Back Bay and Newton?

rosulate | Mar 17, 201509:19 PM

We will be at the public library (Copley) at around 2PM on an upcoming weekday, with about 2-2.5hrs before a commitment in Newton, so recommendations for the best food near stops on the B or D line would be much appreciated, though C/E would also work.

It will be DC's first meal after an international flight, so I'm looking for something casual, consistent, and comforting. In previous occasions, the beef noodle soup and lamb skewers at the now-closed One of the Kind was better for this purpose than a meal at, say, Erbaluce.

I couldn't think of anything worthwhile in Back Bay, so the options I'm considering include Carlo's and Hanmaru in Allston, and either location of El Pelon.
