Green garlic? Or, something else...?

So I was going to make a spring risotto recipe that called for green garlic. I got what I thought was green garlic at the grocery store but when I came home and looked it up online I began to doubt myself. What I got has a bulb smaller than regular garlic, but it's still a bulb, as opposed to the tiny ends that I saw in most pictures, which more closely resemble scallions than garlic. Also, in the pictures they appear to be purplish and what I have is white on the bottom and green on top. Any thoughts on what I got, and whether or not I can use them in place of green garlic in my risotto recipe?
