I searched for a thread on this, and didn't see one (there very well could be one, because I don't trust the search), but we just got back from a Friday dinner at Green Cilantro in Fells Point - next to Jimmys where the Whistling Oyster used to be. We had a tasty meal - not fabulous, but good. We had the place almost to ourselves, which makes me a bit sad because I the food here is as good as many other bars down in Fells.
Definitely a Mexican/Hispanic theme to their food (burritos, taco basket, etc.). I had the nachos with the chicken on a separate plate for my meat eating companion. An aside, the bartender/server had to ask the owner how to say "chicken on the side" to tell the kitchen staff, so there is a level of authenticity. The chips were homemade and they were covered in cheese and black beans. The promised sour cream, salsa and guacamole were on the side - which I like because then the nachos don't get as soggy. My fellow had a cuban sandwich that he said was tasty. The plantain chips on the side were a bit hard and not very flavorful, which was disappointing.
I had both the white and red sangria, which were on the dry side, so if you like sangria without a lot of the sweetness, this would be the right speed for you.
While it was nice to be able to let our daughter roam around, I do I hope things pick up for them. There are about 4 tables in the back, there is a high chair (where said 15 mo old enjoyed sitting) and then there are high tops in the bar area, in addition to seating at the bar.
