It's been awhile since I've had a truly great meal at New Green Bo but last night they were "on" and on Christmas nonetheless. There was a line out the door but our party was large enough that we only had to wait 10 minutes for one of the only large tables in the place.
All of the old favorites were excecuted perfectly. Perfectly sweet crispy eel, amazing soup dumplings with the perfect dough thickness, scallion pancakes, tender rice cakes with beef, bean curd threads with pork and pickled vegetables, scallion pancakes, and the irresistable yellow fish with seaweed "fingers". The tung to pork was beautifully Christmas red and the buns were so pillowy but they arrived a bit late to the table and everyone was a bit too full at that point to appreciate the thick ribbon of fat they were wrapped in.
They were totally gracious in letting us bring our own wine and they provided the glasses too. It was a real Christmas pigout and the tab came to an embarassingly low $10 a piece. It was such a stressfree and delicios meal I couldn't think of a better way to spend Christmas.
