Greco’s in Pasadena

I saw some posts in the past that asked questions about Greco’s on Green Street and speculated about the old location on Fair Oaks…I’ve got some info…

I heard a number of things about why Greco’s closed. The last I heard was from someone that works at the place across the street; apparently the owner posted a “I hate everyone” note on the door which blamed the economy, the government and disloyal customers for the restaurants closure. The reality is it failed because the owner forgot what made a good restaurant. He stopped caring about his customers and the quality of his food and he started to focus on himself and how “great” he was…He blamed his failure on every one else but himself. The bottom line is the restaurant failed because Ross Greco failed. There’s no one else to blame…

As for the old location on Fair Oaks…it wasn’t bought out by a relative. It’s now Gale’s Restaurant. And Gale Kohl is doing a wonderful job with the place. You can see her and her husband Rene working the restaurant. I know a little bit about the restaurant as I’ve become a very loyal customer to Gale and Rene…
She has been working in the business for some 20 years catering to a number of celebs. Gale’s is her first restaurant and she’s seems to be pouring her heart and soul into…she’s there almost every night with her husband Rene…If you haven’t been there yet, you’ve got to try it. The food is the best in town. And the service is great. If you’re in Old Town shopping, I’d say stop by there for lunch. And make a reservation for Dinner on your way out.
