Great Soup and Tamales! in Brooklyn

I found a little treasure on 4th Ave. at 10th St in Brooklyn. Originally a flower shop, sells the best HOMEMADE soups and Tamales (nothing else on the menu). The soup is fresh every day and you can choose from a good assortment of about 6 or 7 kinds daily. My favorite is the Sausage Chili with hunks of sweet italian sausage and chunks of fresh vegetables suspended in a rich tomato based broth. Unlike others that I've tried there is no "commercial" (see msg)taste to the soups. Chicken Pot Pie is as good as your best "real" pie but without the pastry. Also try the real Mexican tamales - opt for the green Oaxaqueño in the Banana Leaf. Prices are reasonable - soups about $3.50 for a small and tamales less than $2.00. If you are looking for it, it is a little hard to find. If you are traveling South along 4th Brooklyn, it is just short of 10th Street on the West side. Look for a white storefront with a wooden deck and awning out front. The doors are always wide open summer and winter so keep you noses open for the smell of hot, steamy soup.
