What a great site! Lake Merritt recommendations anyone?

What a cool site.

I have recently been forced to move to Oakland's Lake Merritt area after all my life in the city and need some recommendations for good food places. I need more places like Spetro to go to. I eat alot of Asian food, so a good Thai place that has Mien Kham (sp?) on the menu would be appreciated. How about a cheap/good Sushi

And now for my recommendations.........

Cordon Blue-Vietnamese street food, California and Larkin...been going there for about 15 years, have the number 5 combo. Cheap.

Hahns Hibachi-Korean, several locations....Yum Yum. Inexpensive and big portions.

Kitaro-Japanese, Geary around 22nd...The first time I went here I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw the menu. How can they afford to be so cheap? Its allways packed, my favs are the Godzilla Roll and the New Zealand roll, the Ginger Albacore is sublime. The dressing on the salad I buy to take home with me. I could go on and on.

New Pisa, Grant and Columbus...I have been going here since I was a baby (im 36). Old style San Fransisco Italian. For 15 dollars you get minestrone better then my Nana's, a proper old fashioned italian salad, a great big entree, I always have Fetucinne Pescatore and then you get Spumoni. If you go be sure you ask for Susan as a server and tell her Michael sent you, she'll treat you like family I promise. In the bar adjacent you can allways here Frank or Tony. Well it looks like Im outa room so more recommendations to follow.
