I've recently moved from my old hood in Parkville to my new hood in Arcadia/Lauraville/Hamilton...My old standby for things Italian was Giovannas, which I will still go to for Lasagna...but I didn't care much for their pizza sauce. Yesterday I thought I'd try getting pizza at one of the places on Harford Road in Hamilton and hit the Blockbuster at the same time. Went across the street to the Pizza Plus (I think) on the opposite corner at Hamilton, and wouldn't you know it..they were closed for the day for renovations! So I saw a place called Cosmos on the other side of the street and went over. I ordered a 12 inch pizza with fresh tomatoes and onion...and boy was it great! I think it might have been slightly overdone but if so, that's the way it should be. I'm not a fan of doughy crusts, and while I didn't order the thin crust, this was very nice and crispy. The top was dripping with melted cheese, the sauce wasn't too sweet, and the tomatoes tasted like heirloom! The pie cost $10.98 and it was fabulous. It's a full service restaurant, you can eat in, and they have all kinds of things, from Greek, to Italian, to burgers and subs. I MIGHT try the lasagna next, but Giovanna's special on Thursday is dear to my heart. Has anyone else tried Cosmos?
