Had dinner here last night. Other than a hostess with a chip on her shoulder, (strange because everyone else who worked there was incredibly well trained an nice), we had a great night at Upland.
Starters of Hen of Woods mushrooms, and Shisito peppers were excellent. Their grilled octopus is a must! The Caesar salad was terrific. Their pappardelle was out of this world, and had an incredible crunch to it. A main course of pork was outstanding. We also really liked the yuzu soufflé with sour cherries.
Their sommelier recommended an excellent bottle of wine, in exactly the style we asked for, for UNDER the price point we gave him, which was highly commendable.
For a restaurant open only six weeks, this place is rocking. The timing was off a little bit with the coursing at some points, but this was to be expected from a new venture.
Fairly priced with great food and a great vibe, Upland is a hit in tough to please NYC!
