Great Mexican in Winnipeg

sojo16 | May 15, 2008 11:47 AM

I just had lunch at Times Changed High and Lonesome Club (corner of St. Mary Ave and Main Street). It was delish. While the toritilla chips and salsa were not free as they are in many U.S. Mexican restaurants, I'm glad we ordered some. The chips were hot, just-out-of-the-fryer fresh, lightly salted, and served with amazing guacamole. We wound up ordering a second basket because they were so crunchy and good.

My beef chimichanga also had great crunch, and was served with lovely black beans and pretty good spanish rice. My friends seemed to enjoy their enchaladas. Service was excellent; our drinks were repeatedly refilled. We were in and out in less than an hour. Other people there were eating bowls of something, so maybe the chili is great, too. I didn't get to try the homemade ice cream listed on the menu, but I want to.

If you're missing Mexican food, try this place. They're open for lunch Wednesday to Friday.
