I just stopped by Lemon Moon on the way home from some errands in the area. I was just blown away by the three salad plate I had (for $9.50):
1) Rock shrimp ceviche with lovely succulent shrimps, diced mango, jicama, avocado, cilantro, dressed with a very light lime juice & a smidgen of extra virgin oil--wonderful!
2) Red beet salad in a thick julienne with golden raisins, hazelnuts (!), orange slices and lightly dressed with oil--perfect.
3) Wilted turnip greens in a Japanese style with sesame seeds, sesame oil and (I found out when I asked) a little mirin in the saute pan, and then chilled--addicting!
Great iced tea, wonderful bread. This is really good stuff! There wasn't a single thing I would have done differently with any of these there salads. I'm going back in the afternoon when I can sample some more of the ones in the two well stocked salad cases--In fact the only thing I don't like is having to park underneath, but even that was nice because the valet parking guy told me (without my asking) that I didn't need to tip because the restaurant takes care of them!
I asked (the manager?) when they would be staying open later than 3 p.m., and he said as soon as business had firmed up just a bit more, so I told him I'd go home and post on the Chowhound board. This is a chance to have Citrin/Lunetta cuisine at oh so reasonable prices. My one other meal here was a nice nicoise salad, altho' nothing to write home about--I would stick to the salad case unless one of the daily specials strikes your fancy. The other nice thing is how pleasant the room is in a clean, functional style--nice patio tables if you want, a communal table and lots of light and high ceilings, and you can go as casual as you want (gym next door after all). Go 'fore they raise the prices!
