I've been a big fun of this place since it's opened(2yrs ago?).It seems like that this place isn't popular on this board.Their eel hot pot rice(Special home style rice in casserole/Eel w.rice in casserole)is one of the best dish in china town.It comes with the nice chunks of eel, flavored by the soy based sauce and the plumped juicy sun dried shitake mushrooms and the chinese veg. These are on the rice in casserole.Everything is cooked by order, including the rice.It takes time(10-15min)but it's worth to wait. The eels(no bones)are full of flavor. It's perfectly cooked, texture is light, tender, fluffy. Also the seasonig is just right, the soy based sauce is not too salty and not too sweet.Of course, the made to order rice is really tasty. This is the taste that a freshly cooked rice is supposed to taste like. The taste is very different from an electric rice cooker made. The portion is big enough for 2-4 person. The price is$9.95.The Salt&pepper baked octopus is very good too.The small size octopuses are lightly fried(absolutely not greasy),perfectly seasoned by salt&pepper, garnished with sliced green chili pepper&lettuce and sprinkled of the fried minced garlic.
I don't recommend the dumplings and buns, but the other things i have tried so far were pretty good, if not outstanding.
