I've been cruising through the various donut shops in the Lexington Market looking for the best "honey dipped" donut. The name is what intrigued me. Does anyone know the origin of this name? I suspect that this is another "Lexicon" thing where the rest of the world calls it simply glazed donuts, but inside the walls of the Charm City they are called honey dipped (for other examples see Lake Trout and Half n Half).
Anyway, during my pursuits, I stumbled upon the sweet potato donut in the Muhley's Bakery stand. Wow! That is one tasty morsel. Highly recommended with a 75c cup of coffee from Konstants.
