Great Columbian place

We found a tiny little place serving Columbian food last week.

Called Los Arrieros, it's located at 276 Jane Street, between Bloor and Dundas on the west side, next to the party store.

There are 6 tables, and apparently it's packed on the week-end. We went on a Tuesday night and we had the place to ourselves. Great service, especially if you dust off your basic spanish to say thank you.

We had a couple of empanadas and and picada columbiana, which is an appetizer platter of deep-fried everything from beef to plantain, corn cakes, chicharron (pork skin) and things we didn't really know what they were but were mighty tasty. That was our dinner and we had to leave some in the plate.

DO try the apple soda, it's yummy!

All that, food for 2, pop, taxes and tip for $20 or so.

My columbian friend looked at the menu we were given to bring with us, and she can't wait to go and try as they serve real typical columbian fare, especially the fish dishes and the oxtail soup (but that's week-end only).
