I tripped across this place the other day in my failed lunch break search for a Thai restaurants in Norwalk. I don't think there probably are any Thai people residing in Norwalk, except in my fantasies of CT as a more culturally polyethnic place. There are, however, tons of people from various places in Latin America, including some blessed ladies from Colombia. The place, translated as "the orchid bakery" is on South Main St just off Washington. I know next to nothing about Colombian food, but I know yummy home cooking when I see it, and this place has it in spades. All the pastries I have had so far are killer. There are a whole variety of daily prepared home-made sausages and uber meat pasteries that with the help of two coworkers I finally managed to eat my entire way through for the first time. There are also a whole bunch of chicken and beef sit down main courses (not to mention daily specials) that exist in chalk ONLY behind the register. There is no menu. What I have seen come out of the back of plates for a normal meal looks stunningly promising. Guess i will have to keep going until I have tried everything.
