Great Burgers and Soda Fountain in far east Dallas

The Dairyette, at Ferguson and Oates, is the place to be. I'm not a real connoisseur of restaurant burgers but theirs are delicious. The fries are not my favorites but they do use fresh potatoes I think. The soda fountain is a real treasure. They make their own root beer whatever that means. I don't notice much of a difference. The malteds are to die for. The cherry chocolate soda will make you want to sit down and write a long letter to the Pope.

They have a calendar from Rudolph's and I think their burgers really are different from the Sysco/Chili's etc variety. Matt Martinez goes there when he wants a burger. Curb service, tables and a counter or to go. But if you get that ice-cream soda to go you miss out on the big thick glass mug. Cash only.
