Hey, Reporting back from the front: Very creative and talented chef Monica Byrne @ the Libery Kitchen at the Liberty Heights Tap Room whipped up the most incredible brunch for myself and two friends this morning. We were greeted with freshly -baked pecana nd cherry scones, nice and flaky, not-to-sweet and quite tasty; I had the citrus-laced brioche french toast with warm, carmaelized apples; the citrus sauce was just sweet enough with something like honey and the apples tart and fresh; my companion had the tomato scramble and the eggs were done just so, the accompanying potatoes provencal with rosemary and whole cloves of roasted garlic were genius and the plate was accompanied by a giant brioche-type of toast seasoned quite right.
Dessert (!) came in the form of a Grand Marnier Belguim cholcolate torte with fresh whipped cream and fresh mixed berries....the tripple latte was nice and hot...we stayed for a few glasses oif white wine and called it a day after more than two pleasant hours at this local eatery that no, is not fancy, has a chef who ares about her food , knows how to make it ANd present it, as well as caters to the entire community: prices were reasonable and the staff friendly, service attentive and music just right.
Hope it lasts out onto the fab deck the place has for breezy summer brunches!!!! Bryne sure has got a running start...Overall rating: A+
