Ive got a brother-in-law overseas in the Marines and Ive been conducting my own informal longitudinal study of the best beef jerkies available (unsurprisingly, when we went to visit him at Camp Pendleton the PX has a beef jerky section that is nothing short of exhaustive). While home for Christmas I tried some from a local place in Omaha, the Stoysich House of Sausage, and I think I may have a winner. I cant say conclusively until my brother-in-law receives it, consumes it, and reports back, but I think its the best Ive tried. Long strips of beef, about 12 long, and about 2 inches wide in the center, peppery with garlic salt and other seasonings. Its $29.95 a pound but worth every penny. Also, if you've never purchased beef jerky by the pound before, let me tell you the 1/2 pound I bought for myself is A LOT of beef jerky. They can also vacu-seal it if youre having it shipped. They've got mild, spicy, turkey and I think some others. I went with the mild.
