I was in Newport recently and came across this little shop in a nondescript row of stores near the intersection of highways 20 and 101. It is called Mai's Asian Market. What impressed me the most about it was its pan-Asian focus despite its limited shelf space. Aside from the normal east asian products, there were also a good deal of Filipino, Indonesian, Cambodian, and Indian products available as well. Everything from adobo sauce to materials for nasi goreng to ghee and rasam powders. I was very impressed and want to share in case anyone is headed that way and wants to stock up on asian groceries.
