Old Graniteware Canner For Indoor Smoker?

JosephInOhio | Oct 4, 201909:12 AM     9

So I picked up an old ***GRANITEWARE CANNER*** apologies for the spellcheck error to the less intuitive.

I can’t tell exactly what the capacity is I’ve got to figure that out... (30 qt?) Four dollars at a thrift shop…

I had planned to use it to boil some of these kind of grimy Magnalite and Calphalon pans that I recently acquired. Found out there must be some pin holes in the bottom… We were getting a slow drip from the water.

Now I am not one to waste five whole dollars... so I’d Been thinking about using it as an indoor smoker. I have a really nice powerful exhaust fan I was thinking of running like a little chimney pipe from the lid I intended to drill... or purchase a restaurant supply store aluminum cover. that would fit... probably that would be easier but more expense....

Anyhoo, anyone tried any such thing?

I have a grill grate to fit in the bottom... so I feel like this could work.

Thoughts?
