Grand Sichuan Chelsea going downhill?

As readers of these boards will know, I am a big fan of this place. I order from there a lot, maybe once a week or so. Wednesday I had the braised beef fillets with chili sauce, a dish I have had there many times.

It was overwhelmingly spicy. By which I mean not just that it was very spicy (I can handle, and even enjoy, that) but that it lacked any balance.

Was it just a bad day? Chef out sick or day off? Has anyone else noticed this?
