gourmet glatt appetizing

shoelace | Jan 27, 2009 10:58 PM

way before gg started renting off all their space to vendors, gourmet glatt used to have a really amazing soup that was sold as part of their shabbos special

it was called chicken gumbo, and was like a combo of a rich onion soup, chicken soup, and potato soup,

this stuff was ridiculously good

im one of those people who is not a fan of soups made by anyone other than my mom and myself, when purchasing shabbos specials i ALWAYS ALWAYS substitute for the soup, bc theyre always too salty, or tasteless, or funny tasting, but 2 years ago, my mom and i were taking a trip in february, and she wanted me to get soup in addition to what i ould otherwise be getting for us to have for shabos, and we got this soup and it was ridiculously happy and deliciou, to the extent that i remember sitting in a hotel room and wiping out the inside of the jar with challah

anyway, does anyone else have this? anyone have any idea of theyre still carrying it despite the fact that their appetizing is contracted now? do we know if gourmet glatt even has a shabbos special

im going away with my mom again in a couple of weeks and would love to suprise my mom with this outrageous soup again

iv called chap-a-nosh at gourmet but havent gotten anything ressmbling a straight answer

if anyone else remembers it besides me, can u share what u thought it tasted like? maybe ill try to duplicate it if i cant track it down?

thansk in advance for your help
