I want to move to either Washington State or southern California to open a gourmet food store/gift/catering operation. I remember going to the Napa Valley in the beginning and experiencing the Yountville General Store before any restaurants existed when touring some of the wineries. It was a great operation and one I thought of doing in the Washington wine country.
Anyone been there? Is it a fun place to visit? Would it be a nice place to live? Could it have a market for a store like this? Weather awful?
I am full of questions, needless to say. Someone suggested I do this operation in the Eastside of Seattle. Lots of house/gourmet cooks around.
Love to get some opinions.
I plan on coming out in October to check out the areas . . . then moving from Florida to the west coast after the first of the year.
