May have found our goto Saturday brunch spot - Cafe Cluny & suggestions for new brunch spots to try?

Not New Yorkers, but get there 10-12 times a year, usually for a show with brunch first and dinner after. For brunch, we've been to Artisanal several times, Pastis once, Balthazar a few times, Sarah Beth CPS, UES, and UWS zillions of times, the late Florent once, the mediocre Diner near Pastis once, Scandinavia House once and Blue Fin once when we were running late. We've even trecked to Mile End Deli in Brooklyn. Of all these places, Cafe Cluny rates highest for flawless service, great quality to price ratio and most interesting dish - poached eggs on short rib hash even if the hash was a bit too dry and needed almost every speck of Bernaise.

We're always on the lookout for semi reasonable breakfast/brunch spots that are not too far to get us back to the Theater District in time for a matinee, preferably without the hub-bub of the Theater District. We're subway users, so any place that is not too long a ride, is a possibility. Is that Scandinavian place across from Cafe Cluny any good?
