I know that there is not that many threads about Guthenburg around here so I thought I would share our food experiences here, now that we are back from our trip.
We had 3 delicious, amazing days in Gothenburg. It was absolutely beautiful and I really did not expect to like the city that much. The food was great too.
If you go, I strongly recommend MagnusMagnus (or m2). They had a 3 courses menu for 455 SEK(about 60 euros) and it was worth every penny/kroner/euro.
Service was great, atmosphere was great. Food was exceptional.
Started with a crayfish soup as an amuse bouche, the bread basket itself was to die for, then we had :
foie gras brulee with liquorice salt and granny smith sorbet
scallops with bacon broth and corn mousse
cod with beet and beet puree and cauliflower.
duck (breast and confit with great local chanterelle and beautiful jus
Goat cheese ice cream with ginger bread and cress
Plum sorbet with rum raisins and nuts

Id say it was delicious. Though I would have love chocolate for dessert but I always love chocolate.

Also recommended: Familjen for a more casual meal.

And the gravad lax at the fish church market along with their seafood salads (all of them) Nothing to do with a mayo based salad in the US. These are delicious!
