Good to Go (White Plains) and a Crossroads Cafe connection

Today I was in the Rye Brook area on business and decided to follow a lead that Kim, one of the owners of the wonderful Crossroads Cafe in Port Chester, had recently affiliated with Good To Go in White Plains.

Chowhounders may recall that Crossroads was the subject of numerous favorable postings but had closed about a year or so ago due to apparent landlord/lease difficulties. At Good To Go, 279 Mamaroneck Avenue, Kim is the executive chef in what I'd call a "gourmet deli" - featuring food to go and off-premises catering.

While the store does have 2 tables (I'm told several more are available outdoors in warmer weather) at 11:30 AM one was available for us to have an enjoyable lunch: salmon salad on a baquette; buffalo chicken caesar salad platter; and a falafel sandwich on pita. Everything was fresh, tasty and fairly priced and portioned.

A wide variety of appetizer items, salads, pastas, sandwiches and interesting looking side dishes were in the display cases. The store signage indicates they offer "breakfast and lunch packages" in addition to numerous daily specials. Kim says she still prepares most of the Crossroads menu items on weekends for pre-order off-premisis take out and catering.

I was happy to find plenty of available parking on the street since the store is located less than 2 blocks from what looks like the business heart of White Plains.

I look forward to another visit.
