Really Good Vietnamese in Eagan, MN

Sai Gon Restaurant, 3902 Beau D'Rue Drive, Eagan 651-675-0564 open 7 days a week until 9 except Sunday til 5pm. Located at the first exit after crossing the Cedar Avenue bridge just south of the Mall of America. Go east on Hwy 13 a few blocks and go right at the first light. Look for Budget Liquor Store on the hill toward your left. It's right behind there in the bottom of an apartment building.

This spot has seen several Asian restaurants come and go but Saigon has promise. Their bahn mi sandwiches maybe the best I've had so far as the bread was still warm and the cost--$2. If you happen to work nearby you've hit the jackpot.

I heard of this place's sandwiches while shopping in the Asian grocery next door. One can't help but notice the beautiful, large photos hanging on the walls and in the front window of the various dishes on the menu. Lots of seafood items and it was a difficult choice.

We went today and my husband had the fresh oysters. He ordered them pate style and very hot. He really enjoyed them. I ordered a house special noodle salad with shrimp and a iced coffee. We also took sandwiches to go and the total bill with tip was only $26.00. I noticed 6 photos of the $5.95 lunch specials and mean to try all of them soon.

We visited with several customers today who admitted to being addicted to certain dishes and unwilling to stray from their favorites.

It's great having good places south of the river so I don't have to drive to University and Nicollet as often.
