more that's good at TJ's

My son (who is 13 and has recently baking things in the oven, something he considers a huge treat and way better than microwaving--who'd have thought a kid would actually go for full flavor rather than fast convenience?) is big fan of the Trader Joe's frozen potato pancakes. Friday he actually left a couple for me to taste and I must concur, they're good!

In the "don't they ever have disappointing stuff there?" category, I must report that the bagged ratatouille is not great. This is the bag that also has fusilli pasta in it. First, it cooks down to a tiny portion, barely enough for a side dish for two to accompany a main course meat. Second, it doesn't taste bad but it sure isn't all that good and it definitely isn't ratatouille--more like a slightly tomatoey concoction.
