Good Pasta near Southstreet Seaport

That area is so nice. Walking out by the river is beautiful, but there is not many good places to eat around there. Yes the fresh coconut juice and the corn carts are great. Mark Joseph is good for steak, but other than that it is hard to find acceptable food. Lots of drinking places like Jeremy's and Seahorse, New Zealand Bar, Cafe Paris etc There are several Italian restaurants. Stella is always empty and the food not too good. There is an Italian specialty store on Front St that has a restaurant. I thought it would be good, since they sell all sorts of good Italian specialties. The restaurant is not good at all.
However, I saw a place, the sign said "pizza". So I thought it was your basic pizza place. The staff was all from Italy and very friendly. The pizza was a thin crusted wood oven pizza. Several choices of pies. The Margherita was very good. I tried their caprese salad and it was excellent. They also had burata that looked good.
I loved their pasta with pesto, it was exceptional. The spaghetti carbonera was also delicious.
The bolognese sauce was OK, not amazing , but quite acceptable. The linguini with manilla clams was very good. I was amazed that this low key, inexpensive place on Front St had such good pasta and pizza. The swordfish was also very good. The place was packed both for lunch and for dinner.
Oh , I almost forgot to put the name, Il Brigante is the name of the place. It is the least fancy looking place in the area and in my opinion the best. Good, casual, and reasonable.
