I have passed Piccolo's on Jericho Turnpike thousands of times, and finally stopped in for dinner last Thursday. This is a little gem, and if you love ravioli, run there now. They make their own, and I heard they supply many area restaurants. We had clams oreganate to start and they were superb; I had the artichoke ravioli in a cream sauce for dinner. The pasta was so light and delicate; a sublime experience. It is a cute little place, with eager if somewhat bumbling service by local kids. My thoughts were that the food here was far fancier than the place; they could get away with a far more "serious" restaurant demeanor for the quality of the stuff that they serve, but they are just fine the way they are. An unexpected delight! By the way, they just changed their name; they used to be called Piccolo Parma. The address is 150 East Jericho Turnpike (north side of the street) in Mineola, east of Willis Ave and all the Portugese places.
