I recently moved(again!) to OC(Irvine) and am looking for a good butcher and fishmonger. I did a search on here and have come up with Celestino's for meat and Santa Monica Seafood for...seafood, but the string is over 4 years old. Is this still the general consensus or are there better choices? In desperation I went to Albertson's and bought salmon and shrimp and was sorely disappointed. They both had a strange ammonia like smell when I opened the packages. Good thing they gave me a refund on both. 99 Ranch Market smells too fishy and I'm a bit scared of the meat cases, although the recent post about 99 Ranch meat has shed some light on what I should expect from them.
